News & Updates

August 2015
It is with sadness that I announce that from December of this year Thyn Lizzy will be no more.
The band will be 6 years old in October and we feel we've reached the end of the road - we are all ready to venture into new projects.
I couldn't have imagined in the early days that we would have had such success as a tribute band, playing hundreds of gigs across the North East.
Some of the highlights have been The Fat Ox, Acklam Steelies Club, Doc Browns, The Trimmers Arms and The Bebside as well as many, many others.
Throughout the run of the band we have had a total of 15 band members and we've been lucky enough to work with some of the finest musicians in the local region.

Thank you for all of your support over the years!!!

We hope to see many of you at our last shows!

April 2015
• We would like to welcome our new drummer Elliot Sneddon to the band! Elliot is best known for his performances with the bands Requiem and Warrior. He will make his debut with the band on 2nd May when we return to The Golden Fleece in Sunderland. We are all very much looking forward to working with him!

• We are sad to announce that our drummer Paul AT Kinson has decided that he has reached the end of the road with the band and will be looking to start a new project. Paul joined the band in September 2011 and has helped to bring the band to a new level; not only with his superb drumming but also his great video production and photography. Paul is an asset to any band that he chooses to work with and we wish him the very best of success for the future.

Dec 2011
Thyn Lizzy review of 2011
Well… 2011 proved to be quite a chaotic year for the band… we went through numerous lineup changes - including 2 drummers and 5 bass players - and had plenty of ups & downs along the way.
However since we got the present lineup settled in the summer, the band has gone from strength to strength and from fairly humble beginnings we've become one of the hardest-working tribute bands in the region.
We've done some memorable gigs in some excellent venues - highlights include Darlington Arts Centre, KennyFest, Stockton Mitre, the Michael Lee tribute at the Quakerhouse & the Harley Riders Club GB bash.
Plans in the pipeline for next year include some higher profile gigs including a few further afield, getting some good quality video online, new posters, rehearsing some different numbers for the show and possibly even an acoustic set...
We'd like to thank everyone who's been along to see us and helped spread the word with your reviews and Facebook comments, with your help we can keep the momentum going into 2012 and keep the heart & soul of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy alive in the North East.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Al, Duncan, Lee, Paul & Rich - See you in 2012!
